It’s got to be St Malo for me. Love the port even though a lot of it was rebuilt and for something else to do we went to the Aquarium in St Malo. Great fun and very informative too.

Great article! I was about to buy a house in southern France a couple of years back and changed my mind for Normandy. I love it. Just spent 3 weeks doing all of the above and can’t wait to go back. You are welcome to stay at my place and check it out too – at La Charpenterie :)

We took an overnight ferry to Normandy and the kids loved it! And, it was really easy boarding, travelling and then we had our car in France as well.

My family lives in Brittany and I studied in Normandy so I know quite well these two regions. Rouen in Normandy is a nice town to visit with many beautiful buildings. In Brittany, the list of my favourite places would be too long. In the North, the Pink Granit Coast (Cote de Granit Rose) is awesome. In the South, the Gulf of Morbihan is my favourite and Belle Ile (it means beautiful island) is stunning. All in between, you’ll find many small, great villages :D
